John Andrew Aviles was born to Teresa De Leon and Andres Aviles in Monterey Mexico. He moved to Los Angeles California when he was a child.  He  went to school in Los Angeles and attended ELAC college. In 1970, he enlisted in the United States Marine Corp and served 3 years. During his enlistment he was naturalized in Hawaii. John served in the Vietnam War and was a proud Marine. He is survived by his one and only daughter Angela Aviles Padilla,
His sister Virginia Brown, his grandsons Jesse and Robert Padilla and niece Michelle Saucedo and nephew Albert Aviles Jr., and other family members.
