It is with deep sorrow that we announce the passing of John Alfred Auer, beloved father and cherished friend who left us on November 8, 2025 at the age of 86.

Born on 4/15/1939 in White Bear Lake MN, John's family moved to Wauwatosa WI at age 10 and he lived in the Milwaukee area throughout his life. He attended Marquette University High School and Marquette University. He had a successful career as a computer programmer analyst which included an award for his work on NASA's Apollo program.

John was an avid runner, completing the Milwaukee Lakefront marathon several times and qualifying to run the Boston marathon. He also enjoyed playing tennis and cycling the Oak Leaf Trail.

John was a devoted father and grandfather. His love and guidance were a constant source of strength. He always inspired staying active, both physically and mentally.

John was preceded in death by his parents: John Sr and Helen Auer, brother James Auer, and sister Mary (Liz) Auer. John is survived by his children: Terry Larson (Spouse: Andy) of Cedar Rapids IA and Joe Auer (Spouse: Sue) of Portland OR.

A Celebration of Life will be held Saturday November 15th from 12:30 - 2:30PM at Eastcastle Place 2505 E Bradford Ave, Milwaukee WI.
