We met at a church dance for Positive singles. It was held at the Super 8 motel. John was an amazing story teller. At my father's funeral when I was too upset to speak, he stood up and was incredible off the cuff. He spoke of my Father's gifts almost as well as I could have.
John was like a kid in a candy store when we won a free trip to Mexico. After the long flight and then the drive, he was in his swim trunks and floating by the hotel bar with a black Russian on his abdomen. Next day he was up early ready for our free breakfast and ready to sight see. His mind wasn't on his pain, it was on having fun. I was amazed. He put on my straw hat and bent the brim back , squeezed himself in our tiny car and off we went.
John taught both me and my sons to openly share our love for each other. Coming from a family who did not express emotions that was a big step. JB continues expressing his love with his son's Daniel and Ryan on a daily basis.
