I wasn't sure if I wanted to create a public website obituary or not. My mother lived a quiet life and she was not particularly outgoing to people she didn't know. But, she does have a story to tell. My mother lived some of the most traumatic moments in WW II and despite it all she came through it to live a life of love and family.

Like most of us she left only a small ripple in time. But she lived, she loved, she laughed and she touched those nearest to her. I'm proud to have called her my mother and the Dutch heritage she bestowed upon me.

Johanna B. Accorti passed away peacefully on the morning of August 14th 2022 in the company of her son and daughter. Johanna was born in The Hague, Netherlands on December 2nd 1934. Shortly thereafter her parents moved to Indonesia where Johanna's father was an official in the Indonesian railways. Their happy time in Indonesia was cut short by the start of WW II where the family was interned in camps run by the Japanese Army. …
