Background

Our dad was diagnosed with glioblastoma multiforme (GBM) in January 2019. We soon learned that GBM is aggressive and one of the most lethal forms of brain cancer. The median survival, with treatment, is 15 months. We were lucky to get 18 months with him after his initial diagnosis.

Typical treatment is ineffective and consists of surgery, chemotherapy, and radiation. While these treatments may prolong life, they certainly don't add to a patient's quality of life. This was true for our dad as well. He endured the treatments that would prolong his life and ability to connect with those he loved, but at a cost. The Glioblastoma Foundation endeavors to increase survival odds as well as to enhance the quality of life by supporting the development of targeted therapies beyond those typically utilized.

With your support they may be successful in their vision of transforming glioblastoma from a life-shattering diagnosis to a manageable chronic condition.
Funds are being collected and disbursed by Lauren St. George, Johan's daughter.
