Joel's obituary
It is with great sadness I announce the passing of my husband, Joel Stephen LeBlanc. Following a long and hard-fought battle with cancer Joel passed away peacefully at the age of 55 on October 27, 2022. He was surrounded by his wife, Rochelle, siblings and close friends.
He will be lovingly remembered by his wife, Rochelle LeBlanc; his mother, Anita LeBlanc, father Lawrence LeBlanc, siblings Paula Noll, Marc LeBlanc, and Lynn Simpson; as well as numerous nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.
Born to Anita and Larry LeBlanc in Halifax, Nova Scotia, on January 9, 1967, Joel was the youngest of four children. Joel’s family moved from Canada to California when he was 11 months old.
From a young age Joel had an affinity for all things automotive. He often recounted teenage adventures in his first car, a 1975 Toyota Land Cruiser. Joel’s first job was at Ralph’s grocery store. Joel graduated from Foothill High School in Tustin, California in 1985.
After high school Joel attended community college. He worked at Northrup where he was proud to have had the experience working on the production of the B-2 Spirit, also known at the Stealth Bomber. Joel obtained his real estate license and worked for Tarbell Realty in Orange County, California. In 1989 he moved to La Quinta, California to join his father in the real estate business.
In 2003 he met the love of his life and best friend, Rochelle, in Newport Beach, California. They were married in Capistrano Beach, California in 2010. The two enjoyed taking road trips along the California coastline, camping, and spending time together. Joel was an avid video game player. He had an interest all things automotive, and in computers and technology. His favorite though was automobiles. Joel enjoyed watching Formula 1, dirt bike racing and motorcycle racing.
At the age of 50, in 2017 Joel was diagnosed with metastatic melanoma, stage IV cancer. He fought cancer with indescribable courage, perseverance and strength. Throughout his 5 ½ year battle with cancer Joel never complained and always expressed his gratitude for each new day !
Joel will be forever missed. He will always be remembered for his patience, kindness, humility and loyalty. Joel had a special gift of bringing a peaceful presence with him wherever he went. Joel’s favorite thing to say was, “life is good”! Although he was taken far too young it is certain that everyone who knew him would agree that Joel is what made life good!
