Background
Joel loved the outdoors. He particularly enjoyed spending time with his family visiting the National Park System. His favorite park was Glacier National Park, but he was fortunate to have time to see Acadia, Apostle Islands, Badlands, Cabrillo, Death Valley, Grand Canyon, Gulf Islands, Joshua Tree, Manzanar, Mount Rushmore, National Capital, Mall, and Memorials, New Orleans Jazz, Pictured Rocks, Redwood, Rocky Mountain, Yellowstone, and Yosemite. In his memory, in lieu of flowers, we ask that you consider donating to the National Park Foundation. Joel's son, Ryan, will receive all collections and submit a memorial gift in Joel's name. Any amount will be deeply appreciated. Tip for the website host is not required. You may select "Other" and enter in "0%" if you so choose.
As the official nonprofit partner of the National Park Service, the National Park Foundation generates private support and builds strategic partnerships to protect and enhance America’s national parks for present and future generations.
Chartered by Congress in 1967, the National Park Foundation is rooted in a legacy that began more than a century ago, when private citizens from all walks of life took action to establish and protect our national parks. Today, the National Park Foundation carries on that tradition as the only national charitable nonprofit whose mission is to directly support the National Park Service.
