Joe Aaron Scroggins, Sr., born on July 7, 1950, departed this life on December 19, 2024, at his home in Poetry, Texas, surrounded by the love of his wife and daughter. His journey through life was marked by devotion to family and a steadfast spirit that will be cherished by all who knew him.

Joe was preceded in death by his son, Joe Aaron Scroggins, Jr.; his parents; one sister; and three brothers. Though their absence left an indelible mark on his heart, Joe carried their memory with him throughout his days.

He is survived by his devoted wife, Penny Scroggins; daughters, Lorie Scroggins-Toups, previous son-in-law Jason Toups, Angela Henson and son- in-law James Henson and Jessica Stevens (Sp-Grant).

 Joe’s legacy continues through his four grandchildren—Heather Larkin (Sp- Tim Larkin) Aaron Henson (Sp- Kashandra Henson), Haley Stumpe (Sp-Paul Stumpe) and Lauren Toups (Prtnr Jae Cox) —and extends further to his many beloved great-grandchildren who brought him immense joy.

Joe’s presence was a constant source of strength for those around him. His enduring love for family created a bond that will remain unbroken even in his absence. May the memories of his warmth and dedication bring solace to those who grieve his passing.

May he rest peacefully in eternal light.
