Joseph's obituary

Joe Nasworthy, a life long resident of the Shannon Community in Rome, Georgia, passed away unexpectedly at Erlanger Hospital on Wednesday July 1st. He left this world, of friends and family, on his 60th Birthday.

Joe was born in Rome on July 1, 1960 to James and Jeannette (Bennett) Nasworthy. He was a 1978 graduate of Model High School. He worked for B & S Music and the Rome City School System. On April 22, 2002 he married Jeanne and welcomed her daughter Mandy into the family.

Joe was preceded in death by his parents James and Jeannette Nasworthy.

He is survived by his wife Jeanne Nasworthy, his step daughter Mandy Baker (Chet) 2 grandchildren Amelia Baker and Riley Baker, sister in law Marlyn Hollis, brother and sister in law Chris and Jan Nasworthy, nephews Matt Nasworthy (Shannon) and Phil Nasworthy (Lindsey), and great nieces Ashley Garrett and Matti Belle Nasworthy.

Joe was a beloved son, brother, uncle, and friend. He enjoyed the simple things in life like sitting in the yard with his brother and friends, talking to everybody, and eating at the Shannon Diner. Joe loved to laugh and cut-up with his brother and nephews. Joe had a contagious laugh and admired his family. He enjoyed his grandkids and their visits. He spent many days keeping up with local happenings and loved living in Shannon. Joe was baptized in 2002 and a member of Oak Hill Church of Christ.

He will be deeply missed by his friends, family, and all who knew him.
