Joseph David Matt III was born in Norristown, PA, on September 3, 1963. After attending art school, Joe worked as a colorist. Before long, he developed his own line of autobiographical comics, which he worked on to the current day. In his later years, Joe resided on the West Coast and was living in the Los Feliz neighborhood of Los Angeles at the time of his death on Sunday, September 17, 2023.

Joe left us at a young 60 years old and is survived by mother, Judy, sister Monica and brothers Peter and Chris. A public memorial will be held in LA at later date to be determined.
