Jody Lynn Lamon passed away on March 10, 2025, surrounded by her family and friends after a courageous battle with cancer. She was born on June 18, 1975, to Charles Amaral and Patricia (Solomakos) Ouimet in New London, Connecticut.

Jody grew up in Norwich, Connecticut, where she attended Norwich Free Academy and formed many lifelong friendships. At the age of 17, she became a mother for the first time, welcoming her oldest son, Corey Amaral. Jody went on to have four more children; Jacob Amaral, Brittani Cosme, Mariah Cosme, and Tyler Cosme—whom she loved deeply and devoted her life to raising. Known as the “neighborhood mom,” Jody had an open heart and home for anyone in need, embracing them as family.

Jody married Charles Lamon on April 20th, 2024, her childhood sweetheart who she reconnected with later in life, after Jody’s first diagnosis with cancer. Jody and Charlie spent time traveling and taking all of the vacations that Jody deserved so much.

Throughout her career, Jody thrived in roles that allowed her to connect with people. Whether working as a medical receptionist at UCFS, Dunkin’ Donuts, or as a Certified Nurse Assistant, which she was for over 20 years, she was known for her warm smile, quick wit, and ability to make everyone feel welcome. Leaving these roles was difficult for her because of the deep connections she formed with colleagues and customers alike.

Jody is survived by her parents; her husband, Charles; and her beloved children. She also leaves behind her granddaughters, Eliana and Amora, who brought immense joy to her life; her brothers, Keith Amaral, Charles Amaral and Billy Soderberg; as well as many cousins and friends . She was predeceased by her uncle Tommy.

Jody’s kindness and unwavering love touched many lives. Her memory will continue to bring comfort to those who knew and loved her. Services will be announced at a later date, and can be found on Jody's Facebook page.
