Jody's obituary

Jody Ann Cutshaw Robbins, age 69, of Williamston, Michigan, passed away peacefully on October 20, 2025, in Lansing, Michigan, after a brief illness.

Born on January 21, 1956, in Kalamazoo, Michigan, Jody was the daughter of Betty Loisell Cutshaw Daugherty and the late James Robert Cutshaw, Sr. She graduated from Lakeshore High School in Stevensville, Michigan, with the Class of 1974.

In 1978, Jody married Jeff Robbins, and together they raised two daughters. The family made their home in St. Joseph and Stevensville, Michigan, before moving to Palm Harbor, Florida. Jody later spent many happy years in West Palm Beach and Naples, Florida, before returning to Michigan following her retirement.

Jody’s early career began in fitness and aerobics instruction, where her energetic spirit and positive attitude inspired those around her. She later found her true calling in fashion and retail management, where her impeccable sense of style and natural eye for beauty truly shined. Jody had a gift for helping others feel confident and seen, always encouraging personal expression through fashion. She brought warmth, grace, and professionalism to her work—qualities that earned her the respect and friendship of both colleagues and clients alike.

Beyond her career, Jody’s greatest joy came from spending time with her family—especially her daughters and her beloved grandchildren, Hank and Mimi. She was a devoted mother and “Grandmamom,” who never missed a chance to celebrate life’s moments big or small. Her laughter, thoughtful advice, and generous heart will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved her.

She is survived by her daughters, Lauren (Mark) Kukkamaa and Lilian (Chris Ste. Marie) Robbins; grandchildren, Hank and Mimi Kukkamaa; her mother, Betty Loisell Cutshaw Daugherty; siblings, Jacqueline (Scott) Pierman, Jeffrey L. Cutshaw, Jill (Greg) Martin, and Jennifer (Robert) Zabavski; sister-in-law, Jill Robbins Cutshaw; and many nieces, nephews, and dear friends. She was preceded in death by her father, James Robert Cutshaw, Sr., and her brother, James Robert Cutshaw, Jr.

Cremation has taken place, and a private celebration of life will be held at a later date. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made to the Jupiter Elementary PTO, the school community of Jody’s cherished grandchildren, Hank and Mimi. The family felt this would be the most meaningful tribute, as Jody’s greatest pride was her grandchildren, and she found endless joy in supporting their learning and happiness.
