Jodi's obituary
It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Jodi Whitney, who was born on March 31, 1978, and passed away on May 25, 2025. Jodi was a beloved mother, wife, sister, daughter, and friend who brightened the lives of those around her with her vibrant personality and love for life.
Jodi is survived by her loving husband, Jason Whitney, and her cherished sisters, Leslie Williams, Sandy Surarwow and Jami Baker. She also leaves behind her mother and father, Teri and Edwin (Jr) Baker, to whom she held a deep love and respect. Her kind and caring soul will be profoundly missed by all who knew her.
With a special place in her heart for all things Mexican, Jodi was known to whip up the best dishes, her love for food evident in her cooking. She had a fondness for Poweraid and was often found enjoying her favorite country and classic rock music. An avid viewer of Housewives and Jordan Ramsey's programs, she also loved the films Urban Cowboy and The Lake House.
Whether she was spending quality time with her family and friends, exploring her favorite vacation spots in Alaska, Hawaii and Texas, or simply enjoying the comfort of her home, Jodi had an infectious zest for life. She was a staunch supporter of causes close to her heart, including Aspca, St Judes, and WWA, often taking time to contribute and raise awareness.
Although Jodi had a loving and caring personality, she could be a spitfire if her family was disrespected. She taught us how to survive the worst that life can dish out and constantly reminded us about the importance of being a solid human being and loving unconditionally. Her favorite colors, turquoise and pink, mirrored her lively spirit.
We will remember Jodi for her legacy of love, understanding, and unconditional support. While her physical presence will be missed, her vibrant spirit will stay with us forever.
