The family doesn’t know me except for
Jode. I am friends of the Marshall family. I saw Jode grow up in front of me. He was very courteous and polite to everyone. Always loved to see him.
He made a great impression on me and everyone around him. He was one of a kind and I will miss him
Kind regards
David Kent

Martin Luther King, Jr. once said “The measure of a man is in the lives he's touched.” Reading through the posts from his many friends, the photos, kind remembrances, funny anecdotes, etc., it becomes very apparent that Jodel touched many of our lives. He was the true measure of a man. I will always remember and never forget how you touched my life and made me laugh every time I saw you. Hoping to see and laugh with you again someday, funny boy. AML!
When I first met Jode, I never imagined him being the person I ended up knowing him as. He opened his heart up to me when I've felt down on my luck. Jode could help someone
feel better and so easily as if he done it a million times before. Jode had the biggest heart, and that's something I will remember forever. Good bye jode.

Nadine, Andre and Cole my deepest condolences to the whole family.

I remember the first time I meet Jode in 2008 out on the field. I said "Wow! who is this youngster" he impressed me so much by his tenacity and skills set on the field. I learned from both Cole & Jode to love & respect the sport that brought us all together. Rugby!

Never in a million years would I have thought down the road Jode would become my best friend. We both looked up to each other in different ways. I miss the long days at the river or the awesome trys him & I would have on the weak side of the field. We always did know how to read one another.

I'll never forget those beautiful memories we shared with you at Maggot Fest, rivers, my place or anywhere else we would meet up.

All the times where we would come together as a family at the De'Klerk house, will always hold a special place in my heart. I am honored to have called you a team mate & a brother. Forever you will be missed in all of our hearts.

May God Bless you & the entire family. Sincerely your mate.

Until we meet again! Cheers
I am so very sorry Nadine, Andre and Cole 💔

I always had so much fun hanging out with Jode. He was one of the last friends I spent time with before moving away from Vancouver. I haven’t seen him in a long time, but I have a lot of memories with him in them.

I always looked forward to coming to your house Saturday’s after the games. Everyone was family. Jode was always the life of the party and him and I would frequently challenge each other to push up competitions lol.

Every time I hear that Stealers Wheel song, “Stuck in the Middle With You,” it reminds me of him dancing to it in the living room with all of our friends. I listened to it today and it made me smile ❤️

He will be missed greatly.
