Joanne's obituary
Joanne Walker-Joseph, of El Paso TX, died peacefully after a long battle with Alzheimer's and Parkinson's on September 5, 2023. She was 77 years old.
Joanne was born on July 10, 1946, and lived in Central New York for most of her life. She was predeceased by her parents, John Walker and Marie Kaiser Walker.
Joanne was retired, but worked in a variety of industries, her favorite being a radio sportscaster for the Syracuse Chiefs. She loved to travel and was a lifetime learner. She was a member of many local organizations in her time living in Central NY. She was also passionate about baseball and history.
Everyone who knew Joanne knew how kind and caring she was. Joanne was full of laughter and compassion, traits that were obvious to all after even just a single meeting with Joanne .
Joanne is survived by her loving husband Al Joseph; daughter Stephanie Walters Rowe, Stephanie's husband Jeffrey Rowe, their sons Carson and Braden; son Douglas Walters; daughter Heather Vinson; Scott Lewis, who she considered a son; as well as many cousins (Walkers, Kaisers, Carsons); step-grandchildren, step-great grandchildren; and an abundance of friends, most notably Louise Bolton whose support was unconditional and appreciated. We will miss Joanne more than words can say.
