My hope is that, over time, the pain of your loss is lessened by the love and many happy memories that Joanne left behind with you. I'm so sorry for your loss.
Our deepest sympathies to the Morales & Sultan families. May the cherished memories bring comfort during this difficult time. You will remain in our prayers. Extra hugs to Andrew & Isabella Light & Love, Joe, Lisa, Chandler & Joey Schoenfeld
“Calm down Jason it’s not the end of the world”. “ If you don’t fix it within the next hour, it could be”.
1991 springtime Chicago, Illinois
So I was dating Joanne and one of our favorite things to do was drive around aimlessly and chat. Of course her father made it very clear that the fuel in the vehicle be replaced and we stay within the boundaries he set forth. The other rule was obviously no drinking and driving and the vehicle had to be returned in the condition it left the driveway at the specified time he stated before she left the house.
This particular day I had asked Joanne if she ever had SuperDawg. She had stated no but asked where it was located. I had said about 30 minutes from Hanover Park north side of Chicago. She said my father has made it very clear about the rules regarding boundaries and The city of Chicago was off limits. So I had stated to her I don’t think it’s necessarily completely in the city of Chicago I believe it is in Norridge which is a subdivision of Chicago. So Joanne stopped the car and retrieved the map out of the glovebox. She said I think you’re right but still I don’t think my father would approve. She then asked again how far away is it I had answered her about 30 minutes from Hanover Park. She said well we do have the time and technically it is not in Chicago it’s in a subdivision of Chicago. So we made the executive decision to indulge in SuperDawg. We had approximately three hours before she had to have the car back in the driveway. We have plenty of gas plenty of money in our pockets and technically SuperDawg is in a subdivision of Chicago. About three blocks from the “Norridge” destination we hit a pot hole the size of the Grand Canyon blowing out the front passenger side tire. I said no problem no problem I’ll just put the spare on. She said if you put that spare on dad will know I hit something. And that is when panic set in. After the finger-pointing blaming each other and arguing we both agreed I have to find a new tire. Lo and behold a “Chicago” police officer stopped and asked us if we needed help. I went full panic mode on the officer and Joanne said “ Jason calm down it’s not the end of the world”. Joanne explained the situation to the officer and he looked at his watch and said “if you don’t fix it within the next hour it could be”. He gave Joanne and I a ride to get a new tire mounted on the rim and helped us get on our way. LOL I don’t think we ever visited Chicago...ahem “Norridge” ever again.
I would like to offer my deepest sympathies and condolences to the entire Morales and Sultan families. I share in your grief at this truly difficult time. We all will have fond memories of this truly beautiful soul and all of the beautiful and amazing things she brought to those who were blessed to have her in their lives. I am one of the blessed. Thank you Jo for the wonderful and beautiful memories you left me with. I know you are at peace and your spirit remains divine in those you touched.
