59-years ago today, Joanne brought me into the world! Due to her age, 60’s cultural norms and her circumstances, she gave me up for adoption. I was very fortunate to have wonderful parents that loved me, guided me, and supported my varied interests. In 2018, using Ancestry DNA, we were reunited on March 30th. The seven years we had together were beyond anything I could have imagined. We shared many common interests and quickly developed a close relationship. My wife, Shelly, and I were welcomed into the family as if everyone had been waiting for us to arrive. Joanne was genuine, warm, fun loving, patient and freely expressed her love. I really miss her today. I can hear her voice and feel her hugs.

We are deeply honored that the Oregon Hospice & Palliative Care Association was chosen as a suggested organization for donations in memory of Joanne "Jody Pody" Lynn DeMello. On behalf of our organization, please accept our heartfelt condolences. Her legacy of compassion continues to make a difference through the generosity of family and friends. We are grateful to be part of the way her life is being remembered.

We are deeply saddened by Joanne's passing. Our condolences and prayers for Hank and the rest of the family. She was very, very proud of her family and was quick to brag about all. Hank, our fondest memories of our bowling days in Carson City. Praying for God's comfort during this awful time. Your love of her was evident every time we were with you. We are so sorry.
