Joanne Lee (Toft) Bourbon

Bryan, TX

Joanne (Toft) Bourbon passed away on March 24, 2026 at age 79. She was born on November 9, 1946 in Aurora, Missouri.  The daughter of James Conrad Toft and Dorothy Hancock (Malet) Toft.

Joanne is predeceased by her grandparents Elmer and Ada Toft, parents James and Dorothy Toft, aunt Martha and Ossie Toft, cousin Jordan Toft

Joanne is survived by her husband of 19 years, Archie Bourbon Jr. They were married at her family's childhood cabin at Table Rock Lake in Shellknob, Missouri at sunrise in October 2007.

Joanne is lovingly remembered by her husband, Archie Bourbon of Springfield, Missouri, Brother Robert Toft (Marianne), cousins Mary Lou Toft, David Toft (Shelly), daughters Stephanie Pugh Paiz (Randy) and Jeannene Johnson (Bram), niece Jennifer Ulrich (Dale), stepsons Todd Bourbon (Holly), Travis Bourbon (Erika), grandchildren Richard Pugh (Nicole Pugh), James (Alex) Pugh, Nicholas Pugh, Riley Horner (Matt Kerker), great-grandchildren Wyatt, Gavin, and Owen Pugh, Julian Kerker, Nohl and Nora Bourbon, Grace and Rose Bourbon and many, many friends.

Joanne was a proud member of Parkinson's Group of the Ozarks in Springfield, MO. She enjoyed being part of the Toft and Company family in Aurora, Mo and Buffalo, Mo. throughout her youth. She owned and ran a printing store in Austin, TX in the 80s. She lived in many states and always had a story to share about her adventures. Later in life she became a huge fan of the Springfield Cardinals Baseball team. She would spend hours taking photos of the games, meeting the players and being a secondary mom to many players.

Joanne loved travel, photography, singing, ballroom dancing and much more. She was creative, determined, quirky, adventurous and funny.

She will be missed by many, may she spread her wings.
