I am so sorry for the loss of your mother and grandmother.
I have fond memories of Joanne from our time working together in the late 70s- early 80s at Marion County Health Department I came there as a new public health nurse and Joanne was my mentor. She was on the communicable disease desk while another nurse and I went into the field. Those were the years when we all did Dancersize together after work in the first floor conference room. Joanne had a great sense of humor and was fun to work with. She will be missed.
I first met JoJo 2015 when I became the church pianist at the last congregation she attended. At the start her son was in a battle for his life, which didn’t work out the way we all hoped. One day she told me “I didn’t grow up being much of a hugger, but I love yours. Thank you”
She would speak to me quite frequently about her previous work in health care. An affinity we share.
Such an honor to be real life friends with such an amazing lady.
I worked with Joanne at Marion County Health Department in the 80s. She was an excellent nurse with a terrific sense of humor with her coworkers and patients alike. I also enjoyed the years in bookclub. She was sharp as a tack and very opinionated. She will be missed!
When I lived in Woodburn several years ago we would play mahjong fairly often, with a few other friends. It was silly fun hanging out together. Joanne was a joy to be with.
Three years ago Joanne sent me this on Facebook:"Jared, I will hit the 90 mark this week so from now on you will bow before me ! And when I go to my reward , toss down a glass and say there she goes into the wild blue yonder!"
