Born in 1938 to Henry and Victoria Jendras, Joanna lived an adventurous life that she could never have imagined as a little girl in Camden, New Jersey. A world traveler in her heart and mind, Joanna tasted wine in California, walked the ancient ruins of Turkey, visited Italy several times, saw Paris and London, and viewed the Northern Lights in Iceland. She raised two sons, Edward and David, and welcomed grandchildren Frankie and Mac, and great grandson Lucas.
Joanna was raised in Los Angeles, California. She graduated from Holy Family High School in Glendale in 1955. Joanna was proud to have worked for Warner Brothers for more than 20 years and build many lifelong friendships there. She retired initially to San Diego, where she enjoyed the more moderate weather and loved to make peach cobbler from her own peach trees. Most recently, Joanna was elated to be a resident at the prestigious Motion Picture & Television Fund retirement community, where she made many new friends and was a member of the Silver Quill poetry club
Joanna enjoyed the opera, the theater, wine tasting, reading, cinema, cooking, technology, and studying and sharing personal finance advice with her grandchildren (ha!). A thoughtful women, those who knew her well will miss her sharp humor, keen mind, and warm hugs.
She is survived by her sons and grandchildren, her nieces and nephews through her former marriage to Howard Solomon, and many loving friends.
