JoAnn Roberta Kassube (Barrows) age 79 of Blaine passed peacefully at home in the presence of her loving family on Sunday, December 27, 2020. Preceded in death by parents Robert & Ruth Barrows, sister Virginia Walter and ex-husband Rudolph Kassube. Survived by daughter Pamela (David) Branchaud; grandchildren Andrew Anderson, Hannah (Emma) Anderson-Hale, and Alex Branchaud; brother James (Janet) Barrows; many nieces, nephews and friends.

JoAnn was an executive secretary at Marsh & McLennan Companies most of her working career and was known as “the fastest typist in the Midwest”. She served them loyally until retiring early and becoming a “snow bird” traveling between her homes in MN and AZ. She was a kind, patient and wonderful mom, grandma, daughter, sister & friend; was fiercely loved and will be immensely missed. She enjoyed gardening, playing card games, reading, caring for many beloved pets over the years, traveling, history, watching her favorite tv show Law & Order and following politics.

At her request, no services will be held, but rather honor her by spending time with those you love, enjoying a hot fudge sundae or playing a game of cards. Instead of flowers, consider donations to your favorite animal rescue or local food shelf. Finally, the family would like to extend our gratitude to the Allina Hospice team for their amazing care and support.
