Joan's obituary
It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Joan Albertson on April 22, 2023. Born in 1945, Joan was a vibrant and loving woman who brought joy and light to everyone she knew. She was predeceased by her husband, James Albertson, whom she married in 1973. Joan is survived by her children Janel Beard and Jake Albertson, her daughter-in-law Jennifer Albertson, and her beloved grandchildren Truman Beard, Lela Beard, Acacia Beard, Grace Albertson, and Bruce Albertson. There are too many lovely sisters, sisters-in-law, brothers-in-law, nieces and nephews to mention here! She was blessed with a large family.
In 1969, Joan moved to Colorado, where she created a wonderful life full of cherished memories. She enjoyed a wide range of hobbies and interests, such as having coffee with friends, being a part of the Single Sisters group, volunteering at Crossfire Ministries, and spending precious moments with her grandchildren. She loved babies and children, and spent a great deal of her life as a beloved Nanny to many, and was also quite skilled as a hairdresser. Joan's favorite ways to stay active included swimming and water aerobics. Her love for cruises made them her go-to vacation, and she relished every opportunity to embark on these wonderful adventures.
Joan's vivacious personality was complemented by her love for jewelry, painting, sharing a meal with seafood, and talking over a cup of coffee or glass of wine. She was a fan of Elvis Presley and always enjoyed a good game of Mahjong. Joan's life was a reflection of her personal motto: "Be grateful and remember the good times!”
A Celebration of Life for Joan will be held on May 20, 2023, at 12:00 noon at Academy Christian Church on Old Ranch Road. As we remember Joan, let us recall her legacy of joy and light, and the happiness she brought to those around her. Whenever you see beautiful flowers or hear a hummingbird, think of her, and let her loving memory live on.
