JoAnn's obituary
It is with profound sadness that we announce the passing of JoAnn Bass, a beloved wife, mother, grandmother, sister, and friend. Born on February 19, 1940, she lived a life full of love and ended her earthly journey on December 23, 2023.
Journeying into eternity, JoAnn reunites with her parents, Joe Bailey Cook and Stella Clareese Cook, and her siblings, Peggy Segotta, Bud Cook, Charles Cook, and Ray Cook, who predeceased her.
JoAnn is survived by her devoted husband of 65 years, Dale Bass, to whom she was married in 1958. She lives on through their children, Gay Lynn Schick (Gale Schick) of Windsor, Colorado Ed Bass (Vickie Bass) of Missoula, Montana , and Curtis Bass. of Albuquerque, New Mexico. JoAnn's loving embrace also extended to her grandchildren and include Brittany Schick, Jared Schick (Ashley Schick), Laura Sanchez (Pablo Sanchez), and Kevin Bass. (Soojung Lee). Her legacy will continue to live on through four great-granddaughters: Jayden & Aubrey Schick and Daisy and Emily Sanchez. In addition, she is survived by her sisters, Sue Lark and Debbie Ulibarri.
JoAnn's life was a testament to her values of being a devoted wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother. She was incredibly loving, caring, and generous. Her compassionate nature touched every heart that came across her. The greatest lesson JoAnn imparted was the importance of family, a truth she lived every day. Her most cherished achievement was her family: a 65-year marriage, three children, four grandchildren, and four great-grandchildren.
Above all, JoAnn leaves behind an incredible legacy of grace and love. Her affection for her loved ones was so profound, none ever doubted her love. Her life and memory will serve as a beacon of familial love, inspiring generations to come.
She ran the race with grace and strength. Well done, good and faithful servant.
