JoAnn's obituary

JoAnn (Sanders) Baley of Bryan, TX lost her battle with lung cancer today August 5, 2023 at age 72. She fought with warm smiles, gratitude, love, and words of kindness to all the nurses and doctors treating her the whole way through. She made everyone around her feel special and created fun and laughter every where she was. She always had the love of life, it flowed in everything she did.

JoAnn was born in Brazoria County, TX and grew up in a loving house with 2 brothers and a sister playing in the neighborhood, making fond memories and life long friends. She graduated from Southwest Texas State University (which is now known as Texas State University)- San Marcos, TX and began her career as an elementary teacher, teaching children grades 3 and 4 for many years in Manor and Elgin Tx. She married Michael E. Baley of Wisconsin and they had a son Michael G Baley. They moved to Lodi Wisconsin where she worked in rural post delivery. Being a mother was the greatest joy of her life. She also had a deep love for animals, nature and people. She spent afternoons outside working her flower gardens and feeding pecans to her squirrels that visit daily, as well as many neighborhood stray cats.

She also took much pleasure in reading many a book.

JoAnn always had a kind word about everyone she met and was so light hearted and pleasant to be around. Everyone was made to feel at ease in her presence. She continuously made everything special and put a lot of thoughtful and extra touches into everything she did. Her focus was always on the positive and she had incredible patience. She was supportive and nurturing, always ready to lend help, advice, comfort or whatever was needed. She made the time to be there for others and took the time to make them feel extra special, putting everyone's needs before her own. She was so giving and you always knew she put her heart into all she did for you. JoAnn touched so many lives with her warm and charming personality, loved by all who met her. She provided her family and everyone around her with all of the love, comfort, hospitality, humor and stability one could ask for.

She is survived and deeply missed by her son, granddaughter, and husband of Wisconsin, brothers of Florida and Texas, and many beloved nieces, nephews, and dear friends. Preceded in death by her beloved parents and only sister.

A true loving heart and gentle spirit like hers is a rare find. Her family and friends can not imagine a life without her. Her memory will be cherished.
