It is with profound sadness that the Cardoso family announces the passing of our beloved matriarch, Joanina Mendes Cardoso, who departed this life peacefully on October 25, 2025, at the age of 95.

Born on June 10, 1930, Joanina lived a long, beautiful life filled with love, faith, and strength. She was the heart of our family — a woman whose kindness, resilience, and wisdom guided generations. Her home was always filled with warmth, laughter, and the comfort of family gathered around her.

She is survived by 7 children — Laura Cardoso, Antonio Cardoso, Gizelle Cardoso, Arthur Cardoso, Olavu Cardoso, Enrique Cardoso — who will carry forward her love and lessons in their hearts.

Joanina’s life was a testament to the strength of family and the power of love. Though her physical presence will be deeply missed, her spirit will live on in every story shared, every embrace, and every act of kindness within our family.

A private family gathering will be held to celebrate her life and legacy, in accordance with our cultural traditions.
