Joan's obituary

Joan Elizabeth Sikora (nee Laky), of Doylestown, PA returned to her heavenly home on Tuesday, May 21, 2019 at the age of 70 after a valiant battle with a long illness. Her devotion to her friends, family, and spirituality supported her in her struggle and ultimately gave her peace. Joan was born to parents Frank and Lois Laky in Philadelphia, PA. She grew up in Oreland, PA, the eldest of four children. As a child she loved horses and reading and she excelled in school. Joan attended Gwynedd Mercy Academy High School where she had many friends that remained close throughout her life. Joan had a successful career and earned her B.S. in Business Communication from Chestnut Hill College and was devoted to making charitable donations, especially to helping children in need. Joan was a beloved mother, mother-in-law, grandmother, daughter, sister, aunt, niece, cousin and friend with a boisterous laugh and generous, sweet spirit. She is dearly missed by her loved ones, who celebrate the fact that she is at peace. At her request, a small private Celebration of Life will be held by her immediate family and friends. Donations can be made to the following organizations that were dear to Joan's heart:
