Joan's obituary
It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Joan Rollason on May 9, 2023. Born on April 24, 1942, Joan brought joy, love, and warmth into the lives of everyone she met. Predeceased by her parents, May and Phil Fink, and her in-laws, Harry and Margaret Rollason, Joan's memory will live on in the hearts of her family and friends.
Joan is survived by her loving husband, James Rollason, whom she married in 1974, and their children: Angela Goertzen, Rob Kermode, Kim Rollason, and Cindy Chaloner. She is also survived by her son-in-law, Jason Goertzen, and her daughter-in-law, Jodi Kermode. With a big and loving family, Joan was proud of her many grandchildren: Marcus Janzen, Samantha Kermode, Jacob Goertzen, Tyler Kermode, Katrina Janzen, Breanna Goertzen, Laura Chaloner, Frankie Lee Chaloner, Cassady Whissell, and Lucas Whissell, as well as her great-grandson, Michael Goertzen.
Joan's surviving siblings, Christina Abbott and Bob Fink, along with their families, will cherish her memory, as will her brother-in-law, Steve Abbott, and her cousin, Beverly Cornelius.
Joan was a bright and vibrant woman whose favorite colors were any bright hue. She was an avid fan of Elvis Presley, the TV show "Young and the Restless," and the movie "Avatar." Joan's love for quilting, sewing, and bingo made her heart smile, as did visiting her favorite local spot, the Fort Road Bingo Hall. Above all, Joan's favorite vacation spots were wherever her family gathered, bonding and creating lifelong memories.
Joan Rollason will be fiercely missed by her family, friends, and loved ones, whose lives she touched with her warmth, kindness, and love. Her memory will live on in the hearts of those who knew her, and her captivating spirit will continue to inspire those she leaves behind.
