It will take a lifetime to share what I learned from Joanie. It takes faith to live to live this life, it takes faith to keep our hope alive and keep our confidence in God, depending everyday in His work of re-creation. A dear friend and a sister in every sense of the word. There’s never a ‘stranger ‘ in Joanie’s life—she shared her best & more when she, herself, needed things. Our life is not perfect, there were a lot of bumpy roads, but you keep going on because bumpy roads are not forever... Always have a word to encourage someone. She’s part of my family who laughed a lot!! She was ‘Auntie Joanie’ when my nieces were little—“We’re thankful that Aunt Joanie was part of our childhood.” Miss her a lot, the chats, the laughs, most of all I’m thankful that the Lord gave us Joanie in this life’s journey.
Joanie was a dear, special friend. I have lots of memories of our families growing up together. Loved her sweet, kind, loving spirit, her laughter... her cooking and baking! Yum!! Seeing her holding the snowman door hanger pic brings a smile to my heart. We had so much fun at the painting party that evening. Sending lots of love to y’all.
I am still in shock over the loss of a dear friend. Joan and I was roommates and worked together in our younger years. So many fun memories we had together. After work we use to go play tennis and I think we did more laughing than we played tennis. She had such a good spirit in everything she did, that I will never forget. Sending my love to Linda, Wade and Rodney.
I have such great memories while growing up visiting the Pierce family home in Pumpkin Center. Joan was older than I, and very quiet and humble but with a very good sense of humor. I remember how red her face would get when she was laughing. I’m glad I got to see both her and her mother a few years ago in Colorado. I’m thankful she passed away so peaceful. Joan was a caregiver and I’m sure she wondered who would care for her. She is not wondering anymore. Rest In Peace Joanie!
I went with Joan, your mom, and Aunt Mabel to Bradley conv. one year! We stopped at Arbuckle wilderness. A special time with special people!!! Thinking of you all in the loss of your dear sister!
Missing you so much, my dear friend..but you are so much better off now. Such wonderful memories we made and I will always hear your laugh any time I think of you.
Linda, Wade, and Rodney: We remember well the first time we visited you all at your family home in Pumpkin Center in the 1970s. Nice memories in getting to know you all those years!
Our own personal journey can take each of us into treasured times in life. We have beautiful detailed memories of Linda, Joan, and Wade, in their move to New Mexico.
Through the years Joan became more dear to us. She is apart of the few that always had a welcoming spirit to us, where ever we would see her. Her sweet influence, quiet wisdom, will continue to inspire us. Vic Lucero
Joanie.... A dear friend, a steady sister with a solid testimony. Like others, I recall sweet visits with her. Some were the heart-to-heart kind of visits; others were sharing jolly good times! She just made the world a better place. Now her light burns on and will continue to illuminate us. Miss you, Joanie! Hugs!
So sorry to hear of Joan's passing. My sympathy to the family at this sudden loss of a dear sister and aunt and niece and cousin. I didn't know her well but know the family and our hearts go out to them. And the few times I met her she had such a lovely spirit. Kathy Wayne
My memories of Joan always include her shyly smiling and sweet vibe...loved reconnecting here in Colorado and wish we had had more of those visits together!
I have wonderful memories of Joanie and my time with her. My memories go back to Mt Peak in the 90’s when Joanie and Mary Lou would be there. She was true blue. Diane Knaub
Linda, Rodney, and Wade: I’m thinking of you all during this time of grief. Losing a loved one so unexpectedly is hard to process. Today I was thinking about Joan and how she made such close connections with people in all the many places she lived. I think that says a lot about a person! Joan will be missed, but I hope your memories of her are a comfort. xo jalan
We will miss Joanie so much. Frequently talked and texted with her, she was always cheerful and laughing. So glad she was faithful to God and we can think of her resting under the altar of God.
