Background
From 2007-2011, Joan volunteered her services as a teacher for an organization known as Philani in Khayelitsha, South Africa, introducing a printmaking
program, and so much more. By developing their skills, the women were given the opportunity to sell their prints and provide an income for their families. She
dedicated much of her life to this cause, and had hopes of visiting Africa a third time.
With your donation, Philani will continue to support family health, pregnant mothers, prevention of malnutrition, and the rehabilitation of underweight children. Together, we can make Southern Africa a place where pregnancy is safe and every child gets a healthy start.
