Joan Johnson, a beloved mother, grandmother, and friend, was born on July 17, 1948, in Minden, Louisiana, to the late Velma Bailey and Aubrey Robinson. She peacefully departed this life on April 7, 2026.

Joan was a devoted woman of faith who attended New Light Baptist Church regularly until her health began to decline. Her presence in the church community was a testament to her enduring faith and commitment.

Though she often appeared quiet, those who knew her understood that behind her soft-spoken voice was a warm, talkative, and friendly spirit. Joan had a wonderful sense of humor that brought joy and laughter to those around her.

She found great happiness in spending time with her family and took pride in caring for her plants, nurturing them with the same love she gave so freely to others.

Joan leaves to cherish her loving memory her children: Maria, Jerry, and Christophor; and she is reunited in eternal rest with her beloved daughter, Tammi. She also leaves to cherish her memory her grandchildren: Nyiesha, Ja'Nia, Alani, Michkeal, Tateyanua, Jaylen, Christophor, and Chole; and her great-grandchildren: Ayanua, Kelsi, and Azarayiah.

She is also survived by her siblings: Eddie, Zelma, Carrie, and Loretha; her beloved Aunt, Celessie Williams, and is preceded in death by her brothers, Larry and Wilbur. Joan also leaves a host of friends and extended family members who will deeply miss her kindness and gentle spirit.
