Missing you Joan.  From my first days at CCC, you were such an inspiration.   I do remember we had a tennis date.  I was in my early 30’s and you a little past that but you gently creamed me on the tennis court!!  Then you saw  me in a Liven Up Gym add.  I was 60 and you were in your early 70’s.  You saw the add and proclaimed “if Amy can do that so can I”!!  You came with that  wonderful spirit and of course showed us all you could do it and do it well.  We reconnected then and had a lot of fun.  Miss you and sending my thoughts and prayers to Tom, Becky, Tim and families.
Missing you today, Joan...I guess I will have a bourbon to celebrate your birthday...I think you would want me to ;-)

Becky, I was deeply saddened to hear about your mother's sudden passing. Joan, was one of the warmest, kindest of souls. I leaned on her for support so many times during my days at the College and grew to appreciate her even more during our infrequent meetings over the last few years. My condolences to your entire family.
We did not know Joan personally but got to know her through the wonderful stories shared about Joan & Tom by our long-time dear friends Adele & Jim. Joan's dedication to & love for her family was amazing. She will truly be missed by all those she touched.

We will be keeping all of you in our hearts & prayers. ♥️

I am so sorry for your loss.  I have such fond memories of Joan during my first years at Cedar Crest.  Her energy and enthusiasm for the college helped me realize that I had found a place where I could build my own career.
We were fortunate and privileged to be close friends with Joan and Tom. We were tennis buddies for years too and you will be missed on and off the court.
George & Emily Zacharda
My deepest sympathies, thoughts and prayers. I will miss her competitive spirit on the tennis courts!

To Tom, Becky, Tim and Joan’s Family,

I first met Joan in 1982 when I joined the Notre Dame Folk Group.   Of course I then met all of you as well.  I always admired Joan’s ability to focus on what she was doing despite all the other things calling her name for attention.  Her love for her family and for God continued throughout her entire life.  I have so many memories of her.

I will pray for all of you as you continue to live your lives without Joan’s physical presence in your lives.  But she remains in your hearts and I am sure there will be many moments when you think of you and ask, what would Joan do in this situation.  Talk to her and share all the awesome memories you have.

I am so sorry that you have lost this wonderful woman. I worked with her at Cedar Crest on the Student Affairs team. At one point we decided that three of us needed to retire together because we could not imagine doing the job without each other. She was a wonderful Dean, always an advocate of the students and one of the kindest people I have known. My heart goes out to the whole family and I can only imagine how much she will be missed
