Joan was a Daughter, Sister, Wife, Stepmother, Stepmother In Law, Grandmother and a Friend she will be missed. Her memories are etched in the hearts of everyone she knew. Dad (Jack) we pray you find comfort in the many years that the two of you shared.

Jack, I extend my deep condolences on the temporary, but none the less painful, separation from your sweetheart as she has edged you out at the finish line to graduate first from mortality and returned home to that God who gives us all life.
I will miss seeing you and Joan helping one another and shuffling in tandem, demonstrating your love and devotion one to another.
I pray that the Comforter will assuage your grief and grant you and yours the promised peace that surpasses understanding.

When I first met Joan, she asked me so much about myself it felt a bit like an interrogation but it was nice to have someone so curious about me. She always asked a lot of questions, and had a lot of opinions (which could be quite silly). She taught me to like cheddar cheese on apple pie. My husband was always happy she never ran out of ice cream in her freezer. We celebrated the 4th of July as a family in her backyard, and she was very welcoming to me as the new granddaughter-in-law. I will always appreciate that.
