Thinking of you today. Remembering your generosity and playfulness - but mostly here to tell you that you were so right! I do like mushrooms now that I’m an adult and probably would have loved them then too if I wasn’t so stubborn, lol. Thank you for always propelling me towards new experiences - even when I was reluctant. Opportunity is a beautiful gift to give a child <3

Joanie was a whirlwind of adventure. Vivacious, giving, and just the right amount of pushy, she was at the center of many of my childhood milestones. First horse ride, first bike ride, first camping trip, first VHS movie rental, first glass of wine in a restaurant — She was just that generous and shared the world with those around her. In a roomful of adults she always had a twinkle in her eye for the little ones and never failed to make us feel special. I cannot provide enough condolences for her loss and only hope she has found Coogie and Buddy on the other side of her new journey. 

…and to Joanie, thank you. Thank you so much for sharing yourself with me. I am better for it, and promise to pass it on.
