Mrs. Joan Patricia Hetherington Boutwell

1936-2022

Mrs. Joan Hetherington Boutwell, age 85, of Brackettville, Texas entered into eternal rest on Wednesday, December 21, 2022 at Shannon Medical Center in San Angelo, Texas.

Joan was born in Pueblo, Colorado on December 29, 1936 to

Lenore (Lumsden) and Henry Hetherington.

Joan attended Incarnate Word Academy, Corpus Christi, Texas, where she had many friends, attended many functions, and played the flute in the IWA band.

Joan lived for God, her family, her friends and her Catholic faith.

She was a long time resident at Fort Clark Springs, Brackettville, Texas and was active in the community that she loved.

She will be missed by her family, her church, St. Mary Magdalene Catholic Church and Father James, her community, and her friends including her dearest friend and neighbor, Sharon Lewis.

Left to cherish her memory are her sister, Dorothy Pollard-Diaz; Her children Therese Kule (Tom), Laura Harvey, Linda McClure, Jack Boutwell, Patricia Walter (Lonnie), Don Boutwell (Becky), Robert Roberts, and Stephen Boutwell (Dedra); Her grandchildren Bambi Meier, Curtis Hanna, Sean McClure, Seth Boutwell, Jonathan Boutwell, Taylor Boutwell, Micaela Boutwell, Casey Kleppel, Stephanie Boutwell, and TJ Boutwell; Her nine great-grandchildren and many nieces and nephews of whom she loved very much.

She was preceded in death by her loving husband of 39 years, Tellis Boutwell, her parents, her sisters, Elizabeth (Betty) Palmer and Mary Clare Hammerton, and her grandson, Skylar Kule.

A Memorial Mass will be given at St. Mary Magdalene Catholic Church in Brackettville on Saturday, January 14, 2023 1 P.M.

She will be interred next to her husband at Fort Sam Houston National Cemetery in San Antonio (Date TBA)
