Jo and I were high-school classmates in Taipei, Taiwan.  In fact there were 4 of us who formed a tight group during those three years. Hsu Shiu Mei, Luo Zong Yen, later on Woo Ya joined us.  We were young and happy together.  Very happy.

Jo was smart, independent . She did not always followed instructions, but did what   she  thought was the right thing to do.

She always knew that  she was going to major in Chinese in college. She excelled in Chinese, but found Math/Science difficult. She predicted that majoring in Chinese would not make her rich.  In fact, she could be starving.  I told her: I will support you!  Ah,  such youthful, innocent  times!!

Jo  had a very distinctive, beautiful hand writing. I'd recognize her handwriting anywhere.   But I did not know how artistic, creative she was until much later, until we met many years later in Boston area.  The new Jo had become a loving  wife and mother.

The best thing  happened to Jo was her  husband, and her two boys. Jo was happy being a wife and mother.  Yes, she loved music, arts and her own family. She would get up in the dark, to lay out the boys' clothing, shoes ready for school.  I think she meant to give  her family what she missed in her  childhood.  If you check her PW for her Email, you will find the German word MUTTER in it.  She loved being a mother!

Oh, Yes, she was very proud that her own mother was the first female general in Taiwan.  I think she missed and admired her  Mother a lot. She also loved her younger siblings who were very good to her.

Jo is with her husband now! She is happy!

We will all join her in the near future, sooner than later.

Sophia Ho, known to Jo and her classmates as 胡小非
