It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Jo Ruggles, who entered into eternal rest on July 23, 2024. Born on March 23, 1939, Jo leaves behind a rich legacy of love, resilience, and passion for life.
Jo is survived by her children, Frank Ruggles and Marina Wachter; and a beautiful generation of grandchildren - Cianna, Cole, Cherish, Noah, Amberlee, Renee, and Angela Wachter, all of whom she dearly loved and cherished. Jo was predeceased by her mother, Helen Sheppard. Her loss is deeply felt by many great grandchildren, who were a source of immense joy and pride in her later years.
Jo had a life-long commitment to service that was evident from her career, which she began at the Los Angeles Police Department (LAPD) on Sept 1, 1966. She served her community with courage and distinction, earning respect from her colleagues and the community she served.
In her leisure, Jo was an ardent gardener, finding peace and satisfaction in nature's miracles. Her love for the outdoors extended to her favorite vacation spots - the rugged beauty of Big Sur. This places held a special place in Jo's heart, where she found solace, adventure, and inspiration.
