Jo's obituary

It is with profound sadness that we share the news of the passing of Jo Lynn Jackson, born September 23, 1997, who left us far too soon on July 17, 2024. Known for her feisty spirit, yet compassionate and warm-hearted nature, Jo's radiant inner beauty and deep caring for everyone she loved is the legacy she leaves behind.

Jo is survived by her mother, Kristina Jackson; her step-father, David Squibb; her sister, Jessica Jackson; her sister, Mariah Prouty; and her sister, Tessa Benkosky. She was predeceased by her father, Jerry Jackson.

Born and raised in Port Protection, AK, Jo graduated high school in 2016. She later relocated to Nixa, Missouri. She went on to Mount Shasta, CA in 2021, and Springfield, MO in 2022, touching the lives of many with her kindness and generosity along the way.

An ardent food lover, Jo's favorites included Steak, Shrimp, and all things good. She was a true foodie. She loved sipping on Iced Coffee, Orange Juice, and Ice-cold Water, often accompanied by a serving of her guilty pleasure - Ice chips. Her favorite show, Friends, brought her much laughter and comfort. Jo enjoyed connecting with family and friends and sought solace and joy in river floating, a testament to her simple yet fulfilling way of life.

Jo's courage was admirable. The lessons she shared about bravery are those we carry with us, a testament to her spirit. One of her greatest accomplishments was her nurturing nature, manifested in her care for and help in raising many children, a testament to her profoundly kind and generous heart.

In lieu of flowers, a fundraiser has been organized for the "Best Friends Animal Society" to honor Jo's love for all creatures great and small. Donations can be made at https://everloved.com/life-of….

Jo Jackson, a woman of deep compassion, generosity, warmth, humor, and spirited personality, will be missed by all who knew her. Her life, though short, was marked by love and bravery, and her memory will inspire those she left behind to be just as brave.
