Jo's obituary

Jo Elva Lynn Hollingsworth Cain, age 91 entered eternal rest peacefully at home, on May 21st, 2020, with loved ones by her side. She was born November 27th, 1928 in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma. She is preceded by, and now reunited, with her Father Elva James Hollingsworth, Mother Luvdia Victoria Hollingsworth, Brother Jay Hollingsworth and Sister Mildred Iris Wallace, Daughter Carrie Cain, and Granddaughter Carrie Cain.

She married the love of her life, Charles Robert Cain, on 7-31-1947 in Oklahoma City. Jo was a wonderful, caring, and devoted mother and survived by her eight children: Cherry Kissinger, Candilee Cain, Charles Cain, Timothy Cain, Gregory Cain, Vikki Erb, Phillip Cain and Kelly Cain. She is the cherished grandmother of 12 grandchildren, and 17 Great Grandchildren.

Jo’s children, grandchildren and great grandchildren were the pride and joy of her life. There was nothing she loved more than getting her entire family together for summer cookouts, Thanksgiving dinner and Christmas Eve festivities, which has been a deeply loved tradition. The legacy of Jo’s kind and compassionate spirit and love for life and family will live on through them.

She was also a woman of faith and will always be remembered for her compassionate soul, and pursuit to serve others. Jo was an active member and elder of Paxton Presbyterian Church and former President of Paxton Women’s Counsel Group and Chairman of the Paxton Evangelism Committee. Jo worked for the Harrisburg Chapter Red Cross and retired from the Pennsylvania State Government.

The date for memorial services and a celebration of life is to be determined.
