Personal note from Susie Travis Miller & Chip Miller

Since Jo was a teen, she had set her sights on travelling the world and was particularly fascinated by Asian culture and art. For the next two decades, Jo journeyed to Bangkok, Hong Kong, Italy, Japan, Canada, Greece, and many more countries. She also became a major Travel Agent and travelled the country for special conventions. From 1995 to 2006, Jo and Ray purchased a Bounder RV and drove throughout the USA, Mexico, North and South America, accumulating a treasure trove of art and cultural collectibles. In 2006, Ray passed away and Jo was single once again at the age of 72. But Jo always looked forward, and along with her love of travel, she loved dancing, cooking big dinners, social get togethers, meeting new people, sewing, knitting, and she fully embraced the festivities of all major holidays, especially Christmas and Thanksgiving. Her holiday dinners were legendary, and many a celebrity dined at her table, including the late legendary singer Bob Shane (founder of The Kingston Trio), Bill Zorn (The Kingston Trio and The New Christy Minstrels), TV actress Tracy Brooks Swope, actor/comedian (and cousin-in-law), Greg Travis, to name a few. And actor Liam Neeson was a big fan of her homemade salsa. Over the years, Jo has accrued several TV credits on IMDB, and is featured in behind the scenes footage in a top selling Kingston Trio DVD from their all-star PBS TV special. In the actual concert, Jo can be plainly seen in the front row. Her family, friends, and co-workers lovingly describe Jo as classy, bright, opinionated, liberated, considerate, generous, giving, loving, fashionably dressed, and with a wonderful big smile. Jo loved music, especially Frank Sinatra, Sammy Davis, Jr., Barbra Streisand, and patriotic songs, TV westerns (“Tales of Wells Fargo,” “Gunsmoke,” and “The Rifleman” were favorites), medical & crime shows, “American Idol,” and "Dancing With the Stars."
