Jimmy Dale ‘Roho’ Rowan, 63, of Fort Gibson was born May 21, 1959 in Muskogee, OK to Alvis and Ella (Byfield) Rowan and passed away Tuesday, March 7, 2023 in Muskogee.
Roho grew up in Fort Gibson where he attended school. He furthered his education at Welding School. Upon graduating, he started his own business Roho’s Welding and retired in 2014. He started his second career as a heavy equipment operator with MGDYESS an oil and natural gas pipeline. He and Deborah traveled all over the country working and visiting any lake, river or stream to see if the fish were biting. He married his best friend Deborah Harper on February 26, 2022. Roho was an incredible cook, especially Bar-B-Que. He was an avid fisherman and spent many hours Jeeping and getting his Jeep out of the mud. Roho enjoyed camping and he loved to eat! He had a favorite saying “I want to see every pair of boobies in the country”. Spending time with his family was of paramount importance, especially his grandbabies. To know Roho is to love him. He always had an infectious smile and a lets live life to the fullest demeanor. He is loved and will be missed by many.
Roho was preceded in death by his parents; a sister, Ginger Whitehead; brother, Carl Rowan, Jr; and a granddaughter, Jayden Rowan.
He is survived by his wife, Deborah of the home; son, Jimmy Dale Rowan, Jr. of Fort Gibson; a sister, Linda Wilson of Fort Gibson; brother, Lonnie Rowan and wife Brenda of Fort Gibson; nephews, Billy and Ricky Whitehead both of Fort Gibson, Donnie Rowan of Broken Arrow, Berry Rowan of Inola, and Will Rowan of Fort Gibson; nieces, Tammy Foster of Owasso, and Saundra Marshall of Fort Gibson; grandsons, Andrew Rowan of Bixby, Lyric Rowan of Alabama, and Preston Lewis of Broken Arrow; granddaughter, Maeve Rowan of Fort Gibson; extended family and many friends.
Roho’s wishes were to be cremated and have a Celebration of his life (party) which will be scheduled at a later date.
