Jimmy W. Richart
Jimmy Wayne Richart, age 74, passed away Sunday, June 22nd, 2025 peacefully at his home in North Judson. He was born on June 15th, 1951 in Robinson, Illinois to parents Clarence “Cap” and Margaret (Goff) Richart.
Jimmy was a retired caretaker for the Olson’s Estates, however, he was truly a jack of all trades. He was truly a jack of all trades. He was a devoted dad, husband, and friend. Jimmy was a kind, gentle man with a big smile that loved to laugh. He was the type of man that would do anything for anyone at any time.
Jimmy spent a lot of time with his daughters coaching softball, teaching them how to fish, tinkering with power tools, and he empowered them to be independent women. He was a positive impact for many people, which earned him many names, such as “Uncle Jimmy”, “Jimbo”, “Coach”, and even “Pops.” He made a positive impact
Jimmy was an avid hunter and fisherman. He loved to fish on Loomis Lake as well as Long Lake. He had the luxury for many years to hunt on private property. He loved his dinners at Rosewood and he enjoyed riding his motorcycles with friends.
Jimmy was preceded in death by his parents, , Clarence “Cap” and Margaret (Goff) Richart, brothers Jon Richart, Ray Richart, his sister Ruth (Richart) Weck, and his beloved first wife, Pamela Richart (of 31 years).
He is survived by his loving wife, Diane (Williams) Richart. He also leaves behind his 2 daughters from his first marriage, Cassandra Harr, & Trisha Carrillo. Step-Children: Jay Carpenter, Katie Carpenter, and Devin Doan. Grandchildren: Jordan, Kolton, Ethan, and Addison. Step Grandchildren: Cameron, Victoria, Gabriel, Paisley, and Lilllianna.
Funeral services will be held on Friday, July 11th, 2025 at 10 a.m. at Edmonds & Evans Funeral Home Portage Chapel, 6941 Central Avenue, Portage, IN. The service will be led by Rhonda Gilmer Williams, Interment will be held in Heritage Cemetery. Friends may meet with the family on Thursday, July 10th, 2025 from 4-8 p.m. at the Edmonds & Evans Funeral Home Portage Chapel.
Thank you to all the Dunes Hospice Nurses/staff and to all that continued to pray and visit with Jimmy. In lieu of flowers, memorials can be made to Jimmy’s daughters, Cassandra Harr or Trisha Carrillo to assist with the funeral expenses.
