My dad was a funny man in all that I can remember about him was, he didn't waste a good prank.  If you knew my dad this was a common thing with him.  I can remember 2 particular pranks he did on me when I was about 4 or 5 yrs old. What I can't remember is if he did them both in the same day or if they were on separate days because they were really close together. One of the things I liked was playing cowboys or indians ( yes these roles are interchangeable lol. . . ) probably because my mother watched westerns when the tv was on. My dad asked if I wanted to play cowboys or indians with him and that I was to have a "showdown" with him to see who was the fastest quickdraw.  Well I'm just playing a game so I went along with it. Of course I lost the draw and laid there on the floor pretending with my eyes closed.   And he said he would bring me back to life.  Oh he brought me back to life alright he cracked open a smelling salt and waved it under my nose.I came flying up from floor thinking my nose was bleeding.  That is because of a previous accident I had that was still fresh in my mind at the time.  My dad wasn't mean he just pranked us a lot.  If you knew him you would know this was one of his good qualities about him. The other such story was he was showing me how to light a bulb with a 9 volt battery.  He picked out this really pretty blue bulb that had all these little hairs in it.  I honestly did not know it was a flash bulb until I was seeing spots not once but twice.  When the flash went off so did I because I took off running not knowing what just happened and ran into the door blind as a bat.  I couldn't get away fast enough.Yes my dad was a funny guy and I promise not to do that to any child in my care.  The 80's was a different day and time and I wouldn't trade that memory.
