Jimmy's obituary

It is with profound sadness that we announce the passing of Mr. Jimmy Dean Boyd (62), who left us too soon on January 2nd, 2025 after battling pancreatic cancer. Born on February 14, 1962, Jimmy graced the world with his jovial spirit and zest for life that will be forever missed but never forgotten.
Throughout his life, Jimmy's outgoing and playful personality brought warmth and laughter to every room he entered. He was never one to shy away from a good joke, his sense of humor being one of the many attributes his loved ones adored about him. His active lifestyle and passion for sports were evident in his undying support for his favorite teams, the Minnesota Vikings and the Chicago Bulls.
Jimmy's love for the outdoors paralleled his love for sports. Planting flowers, playing basketball, and golfing were among his most cherished recreational activities. His hands were rarely still as he found joy and peace in the small things of life, fully immersing himself in the moments he held dear.
A devoted follower of Christ, entered into eternal rest. His unwavering faith and love for Jesus defined his life, guiding his every word and action. Known for his compassion, kindness, and steadfast trust in God, Jimmy found joy in serving others and sharing the hope of the Gospel. He lived as a beacon of faith, inspiring those around him to seek the Lord with all their hearts. Though deeply missed, his legacy of faith, love, and devotion to Christ will continue to shine in the lives of all who knew him.
Jimmy is survived by his loving and devoted wife, Julia Boyd, who stood by his side in every up and down of life. She took care of him daily throughout his illness. His absence will also be deeply felt by his daughter, Suzanne and her husband Jared Garland. He also leaves behind a loving sister, Debbie Silvers, and his brother, Gary and his wife Nina Boyd, among many nieces, nephews, cousins, uncles and friends, all of whom cherished his entertaining company and warm spirit.

He was predeceased by his mother, Barbara Boyd, and his father, James "Ray" Boyd. The love and wisdom they imparted on him are the foundation of the loving husband, father, brother, and friend he became. He will also greet his 9 grandchildren in heaven that didn’t get a chance to meet him here on earth.
Jimmy's departure leaves a void in our hearts, but his life and the memories he gifted us will forever be a reminder of his incredible spirit. As we navigate through this time of sorrow, we find comfort in knowing that Jimmy's legacy will live on in the hearts of those who knew him.
Thank you Mountain Valley Hospice for their care over the last 4 weeks. Our family is forever grateful .
