In Loving Memory of Jimmie Dessa Bennett

Jimmie Dessa Bennett, a beacon of love and strength, passed away on February 10 2024 at the age of 79. Born on July 11, 1944, in Portales, New Mexico, she lived a life full of love, joy, and warmth.

Jimmie was the beloved wife of Clem “JR” Bennett who preceded her on June 11 1997, to whom she was a constant source of support and companionship. Her love extended beyond her immediate family, of children, Carolyn and Dwight Jennings, Judy Bennett, Betty and Chris Archuleta. She was a cherished sister to David and Bobbie Neal.

She was preceded in death by her parents Fay and Onelas Neal, sister Addie Mae Nolen, brothers Charles Neal, Donny Neal, daughter Surina Thomson, and son Clem Bennett III. Their memories continue to live on in the hearts of those who loved them.

Dessa’s legacy is carried forward by her 12 grandchildren, 31 great-grandchildren, and 2 great-great-grandchildren. Each one of them was a testament to the love and care she showered upon her family.

Dessa was more than just a wonderful wife, mother, and grandmother. She was a pillar of strength, a source of wisdom, and a beacon of light for her family. Her love was a guiding force, providing comfort and support. Her laughter was contagious, filling every room with joy. Her spirit was indomitable, inspiring everyone around her.

As we bid farewell to Jimmie Dessa Bennett, we celebrate a life beautifully lived and remember a heart generously given. Her memory will forever be etched in our hearts, and her love will continue to guide us. Rest in peace, dear Dessa. You will be deeply missed.
