It is with profound sorrow but immense gratitude for a life well-lived that we announce the passing of  Honourable Jimisayo Oluwajana, the beloved founder and proprietor of  New Era Nursery, Primary and Secondary Schools, Ijare, who departed this life in 2025 at the age of 77.

Born in 1948, Honourable Oluwajana was a visionary, an educationist at heart, and a pillar of his community. In a time when quality early childhood education was rare in Ijare and its environs, he dared to dream differently. In the early 1990s, he laid the foundation of  New Era Nursery and Primary School, establishing a standard that redefined education in the town. With passion, sacrifice, and a firm belief in the power of education, he opened doors of opportunity for hundreds of children.

His commitment did not stop there. Recognizing the growing need for continuity and excellence in post-primary education, he expanded his vision by founding New Era High School in 2004, completing the academic pathway for countless students from their earliest years through adolescence.

Honourable Oluwajana was a proprietor and a father figure to many. He instilled discipline, integrity, and ambition in all who passed through the gates of his schools. His legacy lives on in the lives and achievements of his students, many of whom now serve across the globe in various fields of endeavor.

He is survived by his loving family, the staff and students of New Era Schools, and a grateful community that will forever remember him as a pioneer, a mentor, and a beacon of hope.

May his soul rest in perfect peace.
