James R. Steberger, 85, Altoona, died Saturday. He was born in Cresson, son of the late Ralph and Marie (Fuller) Steberger. Surviving are his wife, Pauline R. (Zitsch) Steberger; four children: Gary and James Steberger, Christine Saplak and Beverly Sullivan; seven stepchildren: Julie Pielmeier, Suzanne Platt, Cindy Mills, and Robert, Ronald, Richard and Russell Glunt; many grandchildren; and two siblings: Ralph Steberger and Patricia Weston. James was a U.S. Army veteran. A memorial service will be held at the convenience of the family. Arrangements are by The Stevens Mortuary Inc., 1421 Eighth Ave., Altoona.
