Jim "Dee" Hernandez Jr. (1953 - 2023)

Jim "Dee" Hernandez Jr., beloved father, respected accountant, and cherished friend, passed away on March 24, 2023, at the age of 69. Born in California on July 6, 1953, Jim was known by many as "Dee," but preferred to be called Jim.

Throughout his life he struggled with addiction but found his way back and had recently earned his 13 year sobriety chip. He had a strong personality and  profoundly impacted those around him. He loved his Raiders and attended most games. He spent his final days in Merced California.             Jim is survived by his daughters Cheryl M. Maya, Christina L Walters and son Jimmy Hernandez III and their families. He was a grandpa of 7 grandchildren and a great grandpa to 1 great granddaughter. He is also survived by siblings John Pruitt, Mary Jennings , Richard Hernandez and siblings from another marriage Martin, Raquel and Judy.  He is proceeded in death by his brother Joseph Pineda, his mother and step father Helen and Gilbert Pineda, and his father Jim Hernandez Sr.

As we gather to remember Jim "Dee" Hernandez Jr., let us honor his memory by cherishing the moments we shared with him and celebrating the life he lived. His lasting legacy will be carried on through his children, grandchildren and great granddaughter. He will be remembered by the countless lives he touched along the way.
