When working at Hemingway Elementary with Aimee, I recall the glow on Aimee 's face when she proudly spoke about her loving husband, Jim.  Her eyes sparkled and she giggled when she uttered his name.  When I saw Jim pop in to school, it was abundantly clear how the 2 lovebirds cherished one another.  I recall thinking how fortunate Sophia was to be surrounded by this love...and it was evident by watching her, that this was a unique trio of ever-lasting love.  My heart goes out to Aimee and Sophia.
I, first met Jim back in the early 70's playing basketball against him in Greek tournaments.  I was short, he was tall. what more can be said, it was tough to shoot the ball.  He lived in Seattle, I in Denver, when we got together it was an adventure.  He lived in a three platform bachelor pad you may not know.  It was the best ever man cave best of show.  I got married, and we had a son,  went to visit Jim & Aimee to have some fun. I remember well, we had no crib to lay his head, so Jim said let's use a Chester drawer for our son to sleep instead.  Jim soon learned the man cave he had built would not be suitable for Aimee, it was built on a stilt.  I'll remember his smile, his tender heart and all, will miss his tender heart and even to call.   So, to Aimee, Sophie, family and friends fill the void with memories each comprehends.  My prayer is for this day, Jim's LOVE fills your hearts in  each and everyway.
Our deepest sympathies to Aimee and Sophia.  Knowing Jimmy for nearly 50 years was a true blessing.  He was so kind-hearted, always sincerely listening and sharing a smile or a helping hand.  The love he had for his sweetheart Aimee and his amazing daughter Sophia was evident whenever you saw him.  He was so kind and gentle to all our little ones in our extended families.  He was a great man in so many ways and his passing will be forever embedded in our hearts but never forgotten. May His Memory Be Eternal.  Nick, Athena and Loukas

Aimee I am so sorry and what a loss. He was one of the great ones.
We had the great privilege of knowing Jim.  To our sons' he was a "coach" and "mentor".  Our entire family also called him "friend".   Jim will remain in our memories as one of the finest people we've ever known.  He will be greatly missed. Our deepest condolences to Aimee & Sophia.   Sending much love and sympathy ~ Martin, Kitty, Andrew and Max Durtschi

We grew up together as friends, neighbors, teammates, classmates, and fishing buddies. We had the best of times in our teens. We learned so much together. He was always so positive and confident. I am shocked at his passing and feel so sorry from Aimee and Sophia, but I know with the help of our lord they will get through this and have a million positive memories of a life well led.

Friend to so very many people. Going to miss him, he’s gone way too soon.

Jim and his daughter, Sophia, will always be the most solid of bonds. While Sophia, who was the tallest of her grade level, blossomed at WRMS, it was the constant visits to school that made me appreciate Jim as a great father. He was always at school for the smallest of reasons, and his support for his sweet daughter was exceptional.

Every time I saw Jim in town or at Zynergy he would rave about Sophia and her exploits in the big city.  His adoration and love for her was so evident. His huge smile and generous nature were infectious - he was cultured and principled and a great member of our Big Wood Community.

Bless you Sophia and please reach out if you need anything. I know how you feel.
