Jill M. Jones died peacefully at her home on July 9, 2025. She was born in Darby, Pennsylvania to Herbert John McKittrick Jr. and Flavia Merle (Smith) Robertson. She spent most of her formative years in Westminster, Maryland. Jill graduated from Towson State College (now University) in 1975 with a Bachelor of Arts in Sociology. She graduated from the University of Illinois in Chicago Circle (now UIC) in 1978 with a Master's Degree in Sociology. 

Although well-schooled, Jill dedicated most of her life to raising her children, and also spent 21 years as the part-time Administrator of Davies Memorial Unitarian Universalist Church in Camp Springs, Maryland. Her greatest joy was being married to Bill Jones and raising their three children. Later in life, Jill found joy in traveling abroad, playing cards with friends and family, and volunteering at her local library. 

Jill was predeceased by her husband, William Owen Jones, and her son, Ashley Owen "A.J." Jones. She is survived by her mother; her son Sterling (Christine) of Dallas TX; her daughter Jillian Enoch (Jack) of Springfield VA. She was one of six children: Ruth (Bill) Henry, Jan (Tony) DiSantostefano, Sterling (Pam) Robertson, Alys (Paul) Schiminger, Joel (Patty) Robertson. She has two granddaughters, Christy-Lee and Darcy, and one great-granddaughter, Elise, along with many cousins, nieces, and nephews. 

In lieu of flowers, the family suggests making a donation to the National Multiple Sclerosis Society.
