Jesse's obituary
Jesus Franco Sermeno (Jesse), born on January 12, 1951, died on Sunday, January 23, 2022, after a short illness, at his home in La Puente, California, at 71 years old.
Jesse served his country from 1968-1972, joining the Marines after high school. He spent most of his professional career, 35 years, with the U.S. Postal Service until he retired in 2018.
He had a talent for ceramic art, and in his twenties promoted local bands. He enjoyed traveling, spending time with and lending support to his nieces and nephews, taking them with him to Disneyland and Lego Land, sharing good food with family, and cheering on his favorite sports team, the Raiders. Everyone who knew him would agree that he was generous, and outspoken.
Jesse was raised a Catholic, and remained a believer in Jesus Christ.
He is survived by his brother, Guadalupe Jose Sermeno, and sisters: Beatrice Franco Sermeno, Anita Irene Russell, Bertha Alice Vega, his partner of twelve years, Grace Marie Cortez, and her children and grandchildren.
